New Work: Sears Tower Renovation Project Branding

The Sears Tower gets a brand refresh announcing a landmark renovation effort to reduce 80% of the building’s energy use. 2 video presentations and accompaning supporting graphics were created to announce the project to the international press.

  1. Nice work. Very simple, clean and modern, just like Sears Tower (or Willis Tower–whatever it’s called). I would guess they have decided to keep the Sears name based on the above designs! Willis Tower would have been an awful name.

    I saw a picture today of the new owner standing and staring at a test green roof they have installed. Everybody is doing it. The proposed wind and solar energy generation units will provide 100 percent of the power for the hotel as I understand form the article? And they hope to upgrade the Sears systems to reduce it by 80 percent. Pretty ambitious stuff. Can’t wait to try out the terrifying glass cube they have planned for the side of the building.

  3. Thanks for your kind words, Jeff! You’re right: they strive to reduce the base building usage of Sears by 80% and have a hotel that operates using net-zero energy from the grid. Very ambitious, even groundbreaking. It was a wonderful story to tell.
